BREASTFEEDING SUPPORT GROUPS

Nothing compares to having positive and compassionate support when you and your baby are learning to breastfeed. Mother Infant Lactation Center (MILC) is committed to offering gentle guidance and providing current information you will need to give you and your infant the best possible start. Research has shown that women who participate in groups with other mothers tend to adjust to motherhood more easily.

MILC's drop-in breastfeeding support group discussions are facilitated by Roza Baghdassarian, MA, LLLL, IBCLC, and Julie Freitas, CBE, childbirth and parenting educator.

Bring your baby to share and learn in a supportive atmosphere as we broach a variety of topics including postpartum adjustment, feeding, burping, sleeping, infant gas, normal newborn behavior, soothing sensitive babies, babywearing, returning and adjusting to employment or school.

The message at these meetings is consistently: "You are not alone in your concerns. We are here to support you". We encourage parents to exchange contact information so they can meet up outside of the support group. Amazing lifelong friendships can begin in these meetings!

MILC's monthly breastfeeding support group meets the first Thursday of each month (except on public holidays) from 1:00-2:15 p.m. on the 1st level of the Pondella building (in the back yellow room) located at 13743 Riverside Drive, Sherman Oaks, CA 91423.

There is no cost to participate and advance registration is not required. Pregnant women are welcome.
